Ornamental Iron & Aluminum Fencing

Ornamental iron is made from tubular steel instead of solid steel. The main benefits are a lighter product that cost less.

Powder coating is a method of applying paints. The paint is sprayed on as powders then baked on to melt and blends the coating. This process cannot be duplicated in the field. Color matching in the field is hard to do.

A spray finish can be reproduced in the field using the same material used during the original painting. Different paints perform better in different environments. A polyurethane finish is a better finish than an enamel finish. Each product has their strong points.

No, paint doesn't rust, metal rusts. If rust is a concern you should treat the problem, the metal being used. Typically pre galvanizing, hot dipped galvanizing of the metal or using aluminum will offer the best rust prevention.

Aluminum fencing has the look of ornamental iron without the rust problems. An aluminum fence is assembled in the field without welding. Aluminum fencing is powder coated and carries a lifetime warranty. Aluminum fences work great around pools and in areas that have lots of sprinklers.

Vinyl Fencing

The initial cost of a vinyl fence is more than a wood fence. If you add the cost of repairs and painting of a wood fence over the life expectancy of a vinyl fence then the costs are similar.

Proper installation is critical to any fence lasting. The vinyl fence products we use carry a 20-year warranty.

Motorized Gates

In most cases you can with little or no modifications.

When designing a gate system the homeowner needs to consider how guests enter/exit the property. Entry can be granted with a telephone intercom, a keypad, remote transmitter (similar to a garage door opener) or a separate entrance not controlled by an operator.

If you want the gate to automatically close behind you then additional safety features need to be installed to prevent anything from being struck by the gate.

Gate operators typically run off of 120 volt AC, 12 or 24 volt DC, or solar powered.

The gate actually runs off of a 12 or 24-volt battery. The solar panel just recharges the battery. Depending on the amount of times the gate is used, the safety features, and the amount of sun available the solar panel may not be feasible.

With 6 hours of direct sunlight per day and no additional safety features added you should expect 10-15 uses (cycles) per day.

A fully charged battery should last 30 days or 300 cycles with no sunlight.

The local fire department is contacted and, if required, a special key switch is installed that will open the gate.
